Our Curriculum

Our Curriculum is a bilingual (English 50% / Chinese 50%) International Baccalaureate Inspired Inquiry Based Curriculum. It is thematic and subjects/topics are delivered via learning centres.

It is a comprehensive approach to learning where the natural curiosity of young minds are stimulated as children are guided to take an active role in their own educational process by asking focused questions and exploring their environment to find answers to these questions. Attitudes and concepts are explored through the integrated studies of familiar themes. This programme places emphasis on the following transdisciplinary skills and attitudes to promote maximum development of learning outcomes in students:

Transdisciplinary Skills:
. Thinking Skills
. Research Skills
. Social Skills
. Communication Skills
. Self Management Skills
Attitudes We Endeavour to Nurture in Our Students:
This was inspired by the close integration of some of the attitudes from the International Baccalaureate Curriculum; Geneva, Switzerland with the Fruit of God's Holy Spirit, Galatians 5:22
"But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control....Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." Galatians 5:22-25.
Our curriculum is organized into various thematic topics of interest which reflect global concepts. Daily activities are integrated into these topics to make them more meaningful and easier to grasp for young children. Topics chosen are engaging, relevant, challenging and developmentally appropriate for young children. Each unit is introduced through the inquiry method and delivered through 'Learning Centres' as children are guided to ask focused questions, make observations and share their findings and feelings.
Learning Centres:
A Learning Centre is an area in the classroom with hands-on activities or materials designed to teach a specific skill or concept. Children visit the centres individually or in small groups to work on the chosen activity. Learning Centres are excellent for facilitating hands-on inquiry based learning in young children.
